Over the past couple of days, soyjak.party has experienced a fair amount of downtime. This is because I have migrated soyjak.party to a VPS, rather than using shared hosting.
The source of the downtime was not the hosting provider itself, but my own incompetence. I was attempting to migrate the blog to my server, but managed to screw up the DNS. This resulted in just under an hour of downtime. The second incident involved issues with my OpenLiteSpeed configuration, which caused me to move back to the slower apache in order to get things running again. I’m not going to bother trying to switch back, so the site might be a bit slow.
On the bright side, I’ve installed FFMPEG for mp4s and graphicsmagick for better thumbnailing and gif thumbnails as well.
